BOAT SUMMARY |
The Minett boat building operation is deeply entrenched in the Muskoka region of Ontario. The company was formed in 1910 and later was reborn under the name of Minett-Shields in 1925 after a partnership with Bryson Shields. The company ceased operation in 1948 but only after putting out approximately 200 Launches and Runabouts which were all noted for their fine craftsmanship. This particular Minett is a fine example of Minett-Shields work. It is a 27 foot Launch built in 1936 and has a lattice "Muskoka" floor, gorgeous compartments, and attention to detail throughout. It is powered by a Chrysler 6 cylinder 130HP engine which is original to the boat. It is structurally sound after receiving great care from it's current owner of 20 years. The chrome is perfect and the interior is rich looking and gorgeous. The boat in our opinion would survey out very strongly and needs nothing. The boat was originally built for the Boxer family. The boat is offered without a trailer but one could be used for transport. |
